About Me

I've had a rich and varied life and work experience which really helps me to attune and relate to all sorts of people.

My coaching expertise supports my massage work, enabling me to listen deeply to clients and I developed Mindful Life Coaching to draw together the various skills, experience and passions that my work has encompassed over the years.

  • Meditation came into my life in my early twenties. It inspired me to live in a Buddhist Monastery for a number of months.  Meditation and spirituality have been very important threads in my life ever since.

  • I trained in Massage whilst still at university and it has continued to be a central part of my personal and professional life.

  • Despite getting a first class degree, I pursued an unconventional career path.  I've worked in spiritually based communities going on to be a key player in a business experiment to bring wellbeing and spirituality into the workplace.

  • I  worked in PR & Marketing for a progressive giftware company, then for a corporate training consultancy. I went on to set up my own successful Business Communications company followed by a Theatre-Based Training company.

  • Formally training as a coach twenty years ago, I have worked with very many clients ever since, integrating my spiritual, psychological and business experience into my approach.

  • I was invited to write a regular local newspaper column on mental health and wellbeing a few years ago.  You can find various published articles on the site.

  • During Covid, like many of us, I turned to Zoom, running Meditation sessions as well as Mindful Life Coaching sessions.

  • A connection to the earth has always been vital for me. I love immersing myself in the countryside, gardening and growing my own food with respect to the planet on which we live.  My daughter reminds me continually to listen, create and to stay ever open and curious.

My work is informed by:
  • Meditation practises & embodied enquiry processes

  • Eastern spiritual traditions

  • Western psychological schools of thought

  • Numerous coaching models & methodologies

  • Bodywork: deep tissue massage therapy & yoga

  • Improvised theatre & creative media.

‘I think that Nicky’s coaching is a very good example of a naturally holistic approach – blending practical, pragmatic support with a wider sensitivity and a creative, intuitive understanding.  I particularly appreciated her strong awareness of the key patterns behind my work and aspirations. She managed to link into a sense of my work quickly and to respond with both practical and creative suggestions. I found her feedback, both clear and sensitive but also never shying away from honest challenge, which opened up some new and very helpful areas for me to pursue.’ Tim Malnik.
